Healthy Breakfast!
Start with a can of sardines- use only one piece per meal. Sardines are rich in omega-3's and DHA, but you do not want to over-do it with the DHA. A little is perfect, too much is bad. Sardines are also a sustainable resource, and they are low in mercury. And the smell is way too tempting to finicky eaters.
You can easily divide the other sardines up for future meals, and make your money stretch further!
Then I like to mash the sardine piece up in the bowl.
Add the freshly ground turkey patty- turkey meat is full of lean protein, but make sure it hasn't been sitting in your freezer for months. 3-4 is a good "shelf life" of ground meat. After that, the nutrients begin deteriorating, even in the freezer. (Also turkey is full of tryptophan, the chemical that makes you sleepy. For my dog, it helps to calm her down!)
Then I like to add a dash of pro-biotics & pre-biotics. Baer is prone to loose stools sometimes and she can get anal gland issues, so this keeps her stool firm. (TMI, sorry!)
Then I mash everything together, and viola! Happy dog.

So a little self brag, I've been going to the gym now at least 3 times a week since I started on January 1, 2013.
And I feel a lot better thanks to it!
It also marks 3 months I haven't had soda, 3 months I've been eating healthier, and 3 months since I've been focusing on thinking positive thoughts.
I feel great, I'm living without regret, and I'm chasing my dreams. It feels good to be on this path. I have a plan- what I feel is just out of my comfort zone- will push me to my limits and then some, but I know I can handle it.
3 months since I've been the person I want to be (:

Wow, it's been a couple weeks!
I got back from a Flyball tournament last night... it was extremely fun but extremely long. Added to the fact that it was so far away (5+ hour drive for me by myself) and that races took forever (less than 6 races an hour at times... it drug onnnn), it was tough at times.
And I woke up this morning with a KILLER headache that I suspect was a migraine (I've never had one before), but I couldn't keep my eyes open in the morning and my body felt heavy. So I'm just resting today, I guess being in a crowded room for 12 hours two days in a row with loud, barking dogs, and then driving home sleep deprived can do that to you.
Some memorable moments from the tournament? Well, for starters, Baer breaking out of her new soft crate during the FIRST race on Saturday, and running into the racing lanes where I was box loading. I didn't even recognize her, I just kept screaming "Who's dog is this?!" Hahaha finally my friend grabbed her, and drug her out of the lane, then a few seconds later she yells to me, "It's Baer!" LOL Oops. Found a metal crate to put her in, and she was good.
On Sunday, we ran against a team and I had an early pass with Baer- so I grabbed her and prepared to re-run her. On the LAST dog's run on the other team, they did something to fault, so I reran Baer immediately, and we won the heat. That was fun.
And on the last race of the day on Sunday, when everyone was dragging, Baer had to re-run due to an early pass (oops again) and I grabbed her to re-run her- but Baer grabbed her tug already, so she ran down the lanes with her tug in her mouth. I could only stand in the middle of the lane and shake my head, hahaha
So anyways, here's some photos (:

Had a particularly scary moment on our hike today.
Baer got slammed into by another dog, which slammed her into a tree stump. She didn't make any noise, but she held her leg high into her body and wouldn't put any pressure on it after that.
I pretty much panicked. I felt horrible and did my best to help her the rest of the way back to the car.
Once we got home, she was putting weight on it normally but christ, did my mind wander with all the awful things it could've been.
She's still being a little hesitant to put weight on it, so she's going to be resting the next few days to make sure she's recovered.
Anyways, here's some photos from the hike today, enjoy
